Wide Area Airborne Surveillance
Today’s traditional airborne surveillance systems mainly perform reconnaissance and monitoring within relatively narrow areas ( ~150m x 150m). However, situational awareness and precise target tracking may require persistent surveillance of wide geographical regions. In this project, Kuartis served as a sub-contractor to a foreign defense contractor’s sister company in Tukey and developed image processing/computer vision library for visualization and enrichment of images acquired by a camera array designed for mentioned purpose. The library is capable of performing mosaicking, video stabilization, change detection, multi-target tracking and 3D reconstruction. The library also supports parallel and hybrid (CPU + GPU) processing.
